Technological Changes: Nearby Industrial Plant

If an industrial plant was built near the Maritime Forest, this would have a negative effect on many different things.  First of all, the water would become polluted.  This would make it undrinkable, and it would likely damage the crops.  You could still technically bathe in it, but it would be rather gross.  The temperature would probably go up because of global warming.  The light might be blocked at times because of the smoke and smog in the area, making it look rather dark.  There would be nutrient pollution from the pollutants being emitted by the industrial plant.  The air would be polluted as well, and it would be difficult for the animals to breathe after a while.  Toxins would also increase because of the bad pollution.
The first to be affected would likely be the plants, as they would have their sunlight, which is a source of food for them, blocked, along with getting polluted water.  This, then, would lead there to be nothing for the primary consumers to eat.  Without primary consumers, secondary consumers couldn't eat.  Without secondary, tertiary couldn't eat.
